Scot Angus

Scot Angus has been the head coach of the Lions baseball team since 2006.
 
Angus joined the coaching staff in 2004 after five years as a player on the baseball team (1999-04) and spent two seasons as an assistant before becoming the head coach. As a player, he was the recipient of the team’s Yeoman Award for his contributions both on and off the field. He was the captain for two seasons and graduated from York with an honours degree in kinesiology and geography, as well as a bachelor of education.
 
In addition to his work with the Lions, Angus is a high school teacher at Bill Crothers Secondary School, a specialty-focus school in York Region that celebrates healthy active living, athletics and sport. He also coaches at the high school level, where he has guided both boys’ and girls’ volleyball and baseball teams to the OFSAA provincial championships.
 
Angus is currently the president of the York Region Athletic Association and is also still active as a player and coach with the Martingrove Whitesox AAA senior baseball team that finished second in the GTBL in 2012.
