Shankar Premakanthan joined the Lions coaching staff in 2015 and will work mostly with the goalkeepers. He previously served the same role with the Toronto Varsity Blues.
He is an accomplished indoor hockey goaltender on the national level and is one of only a handful of players around the world who have played in all four Indoor World Cup tournaments, most recently in 2015 in Leipzig, Germany. He was also a goaltender for the team in 2003, 2007 and 2011. Premakanthan was also the goaltender for Team Canada at the 2010 indoor Pan Am championships, backstopping the team to the gold medal.
