Biography

2019: Started six games at quarterback, missing the other two (as well as parts of two other games) with an injury … Completed 94 of 167 yards (56.3%) for 1203 yards … Threw five touchdown passes, including two each against Windsor in Week 1 and Guelph in Week 3.
 
2018: Started all eight games at quarterback … Ranked first in the OUA in completions (201), second in attempts (296) fourth in both passing yards (2252) and completion percentage (67.9%) and sixth in touchdown passes (11) … Was named York male athlete of the week for the period ending Aug. 27 … Set the York football single season record for passing yards, completions and attempts … Set the York football program’s all-time record for passing yards (7084), touchdowns (34), completions (586) and attempts (940) during the season … Rushed for a career-high 264 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns.
 
2017: Started seven games and appeared in all eight … Ranked fifth in the OUA in total yards (1,795), fourth in completions (149) and attempts (245) and was ninth in completion percentage (60.8) … Passing yards total was the fifth-best mark in York history … Also tied for seventh in the conference with nine touchdown passes, including three against Toronto and two each against Ottawa and Laurier … Also had 34 rushes for 215 yards and added a pair of rushing touchdowns, one each against Laurier and Windsor.
 
2016: Started all eight games and finished fourth in the OUA in passing yards (2,085), the highest single-season total in York history … Was also fourth in the conference in passing touchdowns (12) and completions (156) and seventh in completion percentage (60.9) … Named the CIS and OUA offensive player of the week after the Week 1 win over Waterloo, where he threw for 331 yards and five touchdowns, and earned the OUA award again in Week 3 after throwing for 540 yards and three touchdowns … Earned the team’s Leonard Jean-Pierre W21 Offensive MVP Award.
 
2015: Appeared in seven games at quarterback, taking over the starting job in Week 4 … Led the Lions in completions (80), pass attempts (143), completion percentage (55.9%) passing yards (952) and touch down passes (two) … Also accumulated 60 rushing yards on 11 attempts … Threw for a season-high 381 yards passing in Week 8 against Queen’s.
 
Professional: Participated in the Calgary Stampeders training camp as part of the CIS-CFL quarterback development program in 2016 and joined the Edmonton Eskimos for the same program in 2017.
 
Provincial/national: Won a silver medal as the starting quarterback for Team Canada at the 2014 U19 world junior championships in Kuwait … Also represented Canada at back-to-back U19 International Bowls in 2014 and 2015.
 
Family: Brother, Colton, was a teammate with the Lions for four seasons and is now a member of the Calgary Stampeders in the CFL after being drafted by his hometown team in 2019.
