Adam Douglas came to York as the strength and conditioning coach in September 2009.
Douglas served the same role for the Canadian women’s hockey team for the 2013-14 season, accompanying the squad to Sochi, Russia, and helping them win the Olympic gold medal.
Originally from Mississauga, Ont., Douglas, graduated from Queen’s University with a bachelor of physical and health education and a bachelor of arts in health studies in May 2005. Prior to coming to York, Douglas was the conditioning coach with the Ottawa Senators in the National Hockey League, where he was responsible for in-season and off-season training for the Senators as well as their AHL affiliate. He worked closely with the athletic therapy team on the rehabilitation and return to play protocols for the team.

In conjunction with his professional experience, Douglas is a certified strength and conditioning specialist with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and a certified exercise physiologist with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology.
As the strength and conditioning coach at York, he prepares off-season training programs, runs in-season training and testing sessions for the varsity athletes. He also works closely with the athletic therapy group on rehabilitating injured players.
