Clifford Ivory joined the Lions coaching staff in 2014 to work with the defensive backs. He was previously with the team in 2007 as the defensive coordinator.
Before becoming a coach, Ivory had a tremendous playing career. A native of Quitman, Georgia, he starred at Troy State in Alabama as a defensive back and was selected in the sixth round (155th overall) of the 1998 National Football League (NFL) Draft by the San Diego Chargers. He went on to put together a seven-year professional career in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Toronto Argonauts, winning the Grey Cup with the Argos in 2004 and earning three straight league all-star selections (2002-04).
