Ian Sinclair joined the Lions coaching staff in 2015 and will work with the defensive line. He was a varsity athlete himself from 1997-01, starting at halfback and linebacker in all five seasons for the Mount Allison University. In that time he won the Jewett Cup as AUS champions in 1997 and was a three-year team captain. Prior to joining the Mounties, he won a national championship with Team Ontario as a halfback in 1996.

Sinclair began his coaching career by working with the linebackers for the Nova Scotia U17 team and since then has been a position coach with multiple high schools in Halifax, including winning three provincial championships with Citadel High School. Most recently, he has served as the defensive coordinator at Blenheim District High School in Chatham-Kent, as well as the secondary coach for the London Beefeaters of the OFC and a defensive consultant for the Chatham-Kent Cougars.

Away from the football field, he received his MBA and his J.D. from Dalhousie University and is currently a project lawyer in London, Ont., and Toronto.
