James Gardiner is the head therapist for the York Lions football program and is also the stadium clinic supervisor.
He is a York University graduate, earning his athletic therapy certificate in 2008, and a certified athletic therapist, athletic trainer and contemporary acupuncture practitioner. He has also completed courses in soft tissue release, fascial work and various manual techniques.
Gardiner previously held the position of head athletic trainer for the Toronto Blue Jays (minor league affiliate, Midwest League) for five years. He earned an honours degree in kinesiology from Brock University in 2005 and brings with him seven years of athletic therapy experience, travelling and working with professional athletes.
