Jeff Melis joined the Lions coaching staff in 2014 to work with the offensive line. He was an offensive lineman himself for five years with the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks (1999-03), playing mostly at centre. Throughout his career he earned OUA first-team all-star honours twice (2001, 2003) and was a CIS second-team all-Canadian in his final season.
 
Melis has previously coached in the OVFL as an offensive line coach and an offensive coordinator.
