Former Lion Josh Small joins the staff this season as the DB coach. Small played in 38 of 40 possible games in his Lions career recording 153.5 total tackles, four sacks and five interceptions. He participated in the 2015 East West Bowl was named the team’s Frank Cosentino MVP Trophy award recipient in 2014, as well as the Jeff Johnson Rookie of the Year in 2012. He finished his five-year career with the Lions after the 2016 season. Â

Small participated in football and track and field at Pickering H.S. and was team captain of both his high school and club football teams. He comes from an athletic family as his uncles Anthony Small (University of Nebraska) and Chris Howell (Illinois State University) were both varsity track and field athletes in the NCAA.
