Matt Deans returns to the York campus this season as the recruiting coordinator and tight ends coach for the Lions football team. Deans was with the Lions as a wide receiver from 2010-14 and graduated with a history degree and minor in political science.

Deans comes to the team with a strong résume of coaching experience that includes stints as offensive coordinator with the OVFL’s Etobicoke Eagles from 2011-14 and Newmarket Bucs in 2015. He was also the wide receivers’ coach at Maxmilian Kolbe H.S. from 2016-17 and graduated with a master’s degree in coaching from Ohio University in 2017.Â
