Matthew Sewell joins the Lions staff this season to coach the offensive line. Sewell recently retired from a pro career that saw him play three seasons in the CFL. He was drafted in the first round, eighth overall by the Toronto Argonauts in 2013 and played two years with the club starting in 2014 before being traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for the 2016 season. Sewell was also signed to contract by the NFL’s Tennessee Titans and was a part of their off-season practice squad in 2013.

Sewell spent his university career with the McMaster Marauders and played five seasons with the school, helping them win the 47th Vanier Cup in 2011.
