Ray Gagnon

Ray Gagnon joined the Lions coaching staff in 2013, bringing to York more than 30 years of football coaching experience. He spent more than half of that time at post-secondary institutions, most recently as the defensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Bishop’s University for six seasons.
 
Prior to joining the Gaiters coaching staff, he was the linebacker coach and recruiting coordinator at Concordia University for three years and in various roles at Vanier College for nine years. As the head coach at Vanier he led the team to the Bol D’Or championship three times and was the CEGEP coach of the year award winner in 2001.
 
In addition to his CIS experience, Gagnon was the linebackers coach for the Team Quebec squad that won the 2006 Canada Cup and has served as a guest coach at football training camps with teams in the NCAA, CFL and NFL. Throughout his career, he graduated 40 student-athletes to NCAA programs and more than 100 to the CIS, as well as 25 players to the CFL and one to the NFL.
