Stefano Conte was added to the Lions coaching staff in 2016 to work with the defensive line. He comes to York from Western University, where he spent five seasons playing for the team and was part of its Yates Cup championship in 2013.

While living in London, Ont., he coached the defensive line for the London Jr. Mustangs junior varsity squad for three seasons and helped them win the 2014 OVFL championship. He was also the senior defensive line coach at Catholic Central H.S. Prior to heading off to university, he starred for the football team at St. Edmund Campion S.S. in Brampton, Ont., earning defensive lineman of the year and most valuable player awards in his final season and winning the 2011 ROPSSA championship in 2011.
