Andrew Broeren joined the Lions coaching staff in 2018. He came to York with a coaching resume that includes stints at the college and provincial levels. Most recently, he served as head coach with the Georgian College Grizzlies women’s team for three seasons, where he led the team to the playoffs for the first time in seven years in 2017.

He’s also been coaching the junior and senior boys’ basketball teams at St. Joseph’s Secondary School since 2013 and the Next Level Basketball AAU traveling team out of Barrie for three years. Broeren also previously coached at Ontario Basketball’s Centre for Performance where he was coach of the summer development program from 2011-14.
