Ben Haile joined the Lions in 2017 as the player development specialist. Since 2015, he has served as a coach with Desta Player Development, teaching fundamental basketball skills in group and one-on-one sessions. He is also the head coach of the Vaughan Panthers U11 team. Prior to stepping into the coaching ranks, he spent four years playing professional basketball in Germany with Erft Baskets Euskirchen.
 
Haile earned his degree in psychology from the University of Guelph and completed a business administration certificate at Humber College.
