Juan Nunez joined the Lions coaching staff in 2017 and brings to York more than 10 years of coaching experience at a variety of levels.
In addition to working with the Lions this season, he is also involved with the Toronto Raptors as the Raptors 905 lead youth skills coach. He has been with the University of Toronto, Mississauga Campus, since 2012 with both their men’s and women’s teams, most recently as the assistant coach of the varsity men’s basketball team. He is also the league commissioner for the National Preparatory Association (NPA Canada) and helps run events for North Pole Hoops.
Nunez’s coaching resume includes stints with CIA Bounce, the Mississauga Monarchs, Ontario Basketball, REDA Basketball and Abbey Park High School. He earned his degree from the University of Toronto and is working on his Level 3 certification.
