Biography

Profile: A very skilled, long, athletic front court player who has the ability to pass, dribble and shoot.

2024-25: Enjoyed a breakout season for the Lions, playing all 22 games and starting in 21 of them en route to being named the Lions team MVP... Led the entire nation in blocks with 62...While averaging 14.1 points and 6.2 rebounds per game, his 137 total rebounds in the season (46 offensive) is the 10th-highest in the OUA... He also had the 7th-highest free throw percentage in the conference (80.6%), while also holding 8th-highest amount of field goals made (125)...His best performance came against TMU on Feb. 12 when he dropped a career-high 26 points with 5 rebounds and 2 blocks, while he posted a career-best nine rejections in the season finale vs. Brock on Feb. 15.... Rietschin was selected in the second round, 20th overall in the Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) Draft by the Montreal Alliance. 

2023-24: Returned to the Lions after sitting out the 2022-23 season, and played in 20 games, starting 16, during the regular season… Was fourth on the team in rebounds per game, averaging 3.7…. Finished second in blocks per game, with 0.9, good enough for a tie for eighth in the OUA… Averaged 5.4 points per game in just over 16 minutes per night… Had a season-best 16 points in the Lions season-opening loss to Waterloo, one of four double-digit scoring games. 

2021-22: Appeared in 13 games, starting two as a forward … Seventh in the OUA with 16 blocks, third on the Lions with 1.3 blocks per game. 

2020-21: Season cancelled due to COVID-19 pandemic. 

2019-20: Appeared in 18 games as a reserve guard and forward. 

Provincial: A former member of the Ontario U15 team.
