Daniel Nikandrov joined the coaching staff in 2019 while he finishes his undergraduate degree at York. He spent three seasons as a forward with the Lions, playing in 54 games and putting up 33 points (12 goals, 21 assists). He was a rookie in 2016-17 when the Lions won the OUA championship and scored the game winner with 5.3 seconds remaining in the team’s first playoff game that year.

Nikandrov’s playing career included five seasons in the OHL with the Sarnia Sting and Peterborough Petes, where he was team captain with the Sting and amassed 132 points (43 goals, 87 assists) in 256 games.
