Matt Arnone finished his five-year playing career with the Lions in 2016 and joined the coaching staff soon after. While with the program, he was a top defender for a squad that one three OUA championships and two national titles. He also earned OUA West second-team all-star honours in his final season and was awarded the Charles Saundercook Memorial Trophy for exemplifying the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for life.

Arnone previously spent time with Toronto FC’s Academy team and signed a contract with the North Carolina FC U23 team after finshing with the Lions.
