Felipe Humana-Paredes joined the Lions coaching staff in 2014, returning to the program where he put together a tremendous five-year playing career (2008-13). As a middle blocker, he started every regular season match over his final three seasons with the program and blossomed into one of the top players at his position in the OUA, finishing among the top 10 in total blocks in three straight years. He capped his career by earning OUA all-star honours in 2013.Â

Since graduating, he has been a member of the national indoor program training in Gatineau, Que., and part of the national beach program in Toronto.

Humana-Paredes also coaches indoor and beach volleyball at a number of clubs and camps. He comes from a volleyball family that also includes his father, Hernan, a long-time coach at York, and his sister, Melissa, who previously played for the Lions women’s team and is now an international beach volleyball player.
