Emerson Morassutti joined the strength and conditioning coaching staff in 2018, returning to the program where he was a student-athlete. He has experience both as an alumni of the York athletics community and several years of strength and conditioning experience.

Since 2014, Morassutti has worked as the lead strength and conditioning coach at Total Performance Academy at Canlan Ice Sports. In this role, he was responsible for leading programming and coaching more than 10 teams and gained valuable experience working with high performing athletes from a variety of sports and ages. Prior to this, Emerson served in the student internship position in the York Varsity High Performance Centre from 2013-15.

During his time as a student-athlete at York, Morassutti completed an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology and Health Science in 2016. In addition, he completed his certification as a strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) the same year.

The former linebacker played five seasons with the Lions from 2011-16, appearing in 35 games. His best season at York came in his final year, when he led the team in tackles and was named a team captain. He received the York Lions Warrior Award in his final season and the Tom Arnott Yeoman of the Year Award for hard work and character in 2012.
