Nour Ghoneim returns to the Lions as a coach in 2017 after five seasons as one of the best players ever to step on a U SPORTS soccer pitch. Throughout her five-year career she earned four OUA West all-star awards and three U SPORTS all-Canadian honours, was the national player of the year in 2015 and a two-time OUA West most valuable player, and was the OUA and U SPORTS rookie of the year in 2013. She also averaged more than one goal per game in the regular season, appearing in 66 contests and scoring 70 goals.

Ghoneim capped her playing career at York by earning the Charles Saundercook Memorial Trophy for exemplifying the qualities for perseverance, sportsmanship and enthusiasm for life, after overcoming a number of obstacles during her time at York. While coaching, she will be completing her degree in psychology.
