The No. 4 nationally ranked York University Lions women's soccer team was held at a stalemate of 0-0 against the McMaster Marauders in Hamilton, Ont., on Sunday (Oct. 5).

With the draw, the Lions hold a record of 10-1-2 and stand in first place in the OUA West Division with 32 points, just ahead of the Western Mustangs.

Despite the Lions' persistence on offence, the Marauders held their defensive stance to keep the game scoreless. Goalkeeper Brittany Duffey rose to become the Marauders' hero, making 16 saves in the game.

Out of a total of 12 shots, the Lions made four on target.
Marilyn Grammenopoulos (Whitby, Ont.) made two while
Taylor Lyons (Brampton, Ont.) and
Christina Morelli (Markham, Ont.) contributed one each.

The Marauders made just one shot in the game, giving rookie goalkeeper
Courtney Davis (Cambridge, Ont.) the only save of the game. Davis made her sixth clean sheet in the season.

The Lions will face the visiting Waterloo Warriors at home on Sunday (Oct. 12) beginning at 1pm in their next contest.
