York University Sport & Recreation honoured its Lions men's volleyball graduating players on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 9) before the team's final regular-season contest of the year.
 
Recognized for their tremendous careers over the last five seasons were outside hitters Ray Szeto and Marko Dakic, as well as setter Nikola Sandic.
 
Szeto (Sutton, Ont.) has put together one of the greatest volleyball careers in Lions history. He is a two-time OUA all-star and CIS all-Canadian, becoming just the second York player to earn multiple all-Canadian honours in program history. He has finished in the top five in OUA scoring in each of the last three seasons and will graduate as York's all-time leader in total kills.
 
Dakic (Mississauga, Ont.) has been a versatile player for the Lions over the last five years. He has previously spent time at outside hitter and libero, and this season became the starting setter, ranking second in the OUA in assists per set. He earned CIS academic all-Canadian honours last season.
 
Sandic (Etobicoke, Ont.) has been an outside hitter for the past four seasons. He began his career by being named to the OUA all-rookie team, and he has appeared in every match over the last two years. His best year came in 2013-14, where he set a career high in scoring and was top 30 in the OUA in points and digs. He is also a strong student, earning CIS academic all-Canadian honours last year.
 
The Lions have already qualified for the playoffs and will play in an OUA quarter-final game next weekend, with a chance to qualify for the Final Four Championships the following weekend.
