Game Recap: Men's Soccer | | By Joey Ricottone

LIONS BLANK WARRIORS FOR EIGHTH WIN OF THE SEASON

The York University Lions men's soccer team continued its undefeated streak on Friday night (Sept. 30) after a 4-0 win against the Waterloo Warriors at Warrior Field.

The Lions had an offensive talent outburst starting early in the game and continuing often.

It all started with a goal from Milan Beader (Oakville, Ont.) in the fourth minute of the match. The scoring continued in the first half with Cristian Cavallini (Woodbridge, Ont.) scoring in the 18th minute on an unassisted goal.

The next Lion to make the score sheet was Ryan Telfer (Mississauga, Ont.) with a strike in the 44th minute of the match. This would close out the half with the Warriors on the ropes and the Lions leading 3-0.

The Lions defence was on full display as they kept Waterloo scoreless in the match with a stout defence up until the final whistle. The final goal of the match came in the waning moments of the game from Austin McGlashan (Mississauga, Ont.) to put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute.

Friday's win gives the Lions their eighth win of the season and continues their undefeated streak. They now have seven-point cushion on the rest of the OUA West Division.

The Lions' next game will take place on Sunday (Oct. 2) when they face off against the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont. They will return home on Wednesday (Oct. 12) when they attempt to continue their winning streak against the Guelph Gryphons.
