In Windsor, Ont., the York University men's volleyball team fell 3-2 to the Windsor Lancers at the St. Denis Centre on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 7).

The two teams were tied at 2-2 after the Lions took the first set 25-20 and the fourth set 25-23, while the Lancers took the second set with a 25-14 score, and the third set with a close 26-24 score. The fifth set finished at 15-11 in favour of the home team.

For the Lions
Arthur Szwarc (Toronto) had the most points with 17.5 from 14 kills and 1 assist,
Tyler Covach (Kitchener, Ont) had 15.5 points to his name with 15 kills and two assists, and
Nicholas Pirnat (Ottawa, Ont.) also contributed 13 points for the team with 11 kills and four assists.

On the other end Josh Edwards tallied 21 points off of 15 kills and five blocks, while Brad Gyemi followed closely behind with 20.5 points with an impressive 20 kills. John Moate and Scott Phounpadith each grabbed 10 points.

Setters Blase Wasser and
Logan Mend (Naramata, B.C.) also played solid games. Mend ended with 40 assists for the Lions and Wasser finished with 47 for the Lancers.

Currently the Lions (7-11) are seated just above the Lancers in seventh place of the OUA Standings with 14 points and two more games left in their regular season.

On Feb. 14 (Sunday), the Lions will gear up to take on the Waterloo Warriors at 4pm. Fans can catch the action at the Tait McKenzie Centre. Â
