The York University Lions women's volleyball team travelled to Kingston, Ont., to take on the RMC Paladins Saturday. Here the Lions picked up their first win of the season, with a final match score of 3-0.

The first set was very close, with it ending 25-23 in favour of the Lions. They played a very strong second set, finishing 25-17, and the third set concluded at 25-22 for the sweep.

Sarah Williams was one of the team leaders in points. She made nine kills and two service aces for a total of 11 points over the three sets.
Kayla Clennon also scored 11 points for the Lions, with 10 kills and one solo block. Williams and
Melissa Smillie led the team in digs with 14 each.

RMC's leading scorer was Kara Stephan with 17 points and she also added 13 digs.

The Lions will stay in Kingston, Ont., for one more day and take on the Queen's Gaels Sunday, Nov. 5 at 1pm. They will return to the Tait McKenzie Centre on Friday, Nov. 10 at 6pm to face off with the Ryerson Rams in their home opener.
