Fresh off of a heartbreaking loss, the York University Lions men's basketball team returned to the court to face off against the No. 1 nationally ranked Carleton Ravens. A tough night against an outstanding opponent would leave the Lions defeated by a score of 114-50.
In the first half of the game
Julio Vazquez (Toronto) did the brunt of his damage against the Ravens defence and would finish the game as the Lions leading scorer with 14 points. A slow first-quarter start would leave the Lions playing catch-up for the remainder of the game and would have the half end with a score of 72-27.
The Ravens did not let up in the second half en route to the lopsided victory. They shot a remarkable 58.3% from the floor, including 57.1% from behind the arc, to roll to the win and remain undefeated on the season.
Returning from half time the Lions would search for more successful ways to score and defend.
Yaw Antwi-Boasiako (London, Ont.) put his best foot forward in the second half to help the Lions effort. He would end the game with nine points and three rebounds.
The Lions' next game will take place on Friday night when they travel to Kingston, Ont., to face off against the Queen's Gaels for their final game of the year. Tip-off is set for 8pm.
