The York University men's soccer team topped the Algoma Thunderbirds 2-0 yesterday in a road game in Sault Saint Marie, Ont.
 
York dominated throughout the entire game with 21 shots to Algoma's 3. In the first half of the game, York shot eight times against the Thunderbirds who got in three shots.
 
Omar Marzouk, a second year forward, was the sole scorer of the entire game and also had the most chances with seven shots and two goals.
 
Marzouk's first goal came at the end of the first half at the 45th minute, an unassisted goal. The second goal for the Lions came in the second half at the 67th minute of the game, also unassisted.
 
The Lions defense was able to ensure the Thunderbirds were unable to record a shot in the second half as they had zero tries at the Lions net. The game ended in a 2-0 win for the Lions.
 
The Lions will be playing the Thunderbirds in their second straight game today in Sault Saint Marie, Ont. at the Superior Heights Turf Field at 3pm.
