The York University women's basketball team dominated the Waterloo Warriors in all four quarters and picked up a 68-45 victory on Friday evening at Tait Mackenzie Centre.

The Lions started off the first quarter strong and picked up a big 20-6 lead against the Warriors. The home team built on the momentum of
Emma Jonas' three-pointer that gave the Lions their first three points and continued to add 17 more points before the buzzer.

Similarly, at the start of the second quarter, Jonas sunk another three-pointer to open the scoring. Midway through the quarter, the Lions picked up a 20-point lead, and kept that lead to end the half by a score of 38-16.

Although the Warriors added 16 points, their most of the game in the third quarter, the Lions continued to dominate the court.
Lauren Golding made a lay-up to give the Lions their first two points of the quarter and midway through the quarter, both
Haley Bowie and
Madison Bardoel nailed three-pointers as the Lions led the Warriors 54-32 by the end of the quarter.

In the fourth quarter,
Megan Stewart, in her first game back from injury, entered the game with five minutes remaining, and sunk two consecutive three-pointers. The Lions added 14 more points to end the game defeating the Warriors by a score of 68-45.

Leading the way for the Lions was Jonas with 14 points, five rebounds and two steals.
Cyanna King earned herself ten points, seven rebounds and two blocks, while
Katrina Collins-Samuels had nine points, four rebounds and four assists. The Lions are now 4-2 on the season and sit middle of the pack in the OUA East division.

The Lions are playing in their last home game until the new year, tomorrow Nov. 17 against the Laurier Golden Hawks at Tait Mackenzie Centre. The game is scheduled to start at 6pm.
