York University Lions women's hockey team lost 1-0 to the Western Mustangs after a very close game, which saw the winner from the Mustangs in the third period of the Friday night game.

The first period of the game ended 0-0 for both teams as Western had 19 shots on goal, all of which were saved by York goaltender
Lauren Dubie. York was able to fire 11 shots at Western, which were all saved by the Mustangs goalie Carmen Lasis.

The second period of the game also saw several scoring opportunities from both teams, however, neither was able to find the back of their opponent's net. York took the lead in shots on goal in the second period with 14 for the Lions and five for the Mustangs.

In the third period of the game at 10:15, Western's Renae Nevills was able score the only goal of the game with assists by Brooke Dicicco and Evra Levesque.

The Lions outshot the Mustangs 37-32 but were unable to find the back of the net and the Mustangs prevailed 1-0.

The Lions will be playing the Brock Badgers on Sunday, Nov. 18 at Canlan Ice Sports in their next game. Puck drop is scheduled for 2pm.
