The York University Lions women's hockey team lost 1-0 to the Laurier Golden Hawks in Waterloo, Ont, on Friday, Jan. 18, their second loss in as many road games this week.
Â
Though both teams had six shots-on-goal in the first period, neither team was able to get the puck past
Eva Hall and Cohen Myers the respective goalkeepers for the Lions and the Golden Hawks.
Â
The first period of the game ended 0-0 for both teams.
Â
It was during the second period of the game where the Lions topped the Golden Hawks in shots-on-goal. York was able to fire 11 shots while Laurier had nine of their own, one of them being the first and only goal of the game by Laurier's forward Danielle Wark at 11:40.
Â
The final period saw the Lions fighting for a goal on the scoreboard as they double the Golden Hawks in scoring attempts. York's eight shots-on-goal, however, were not enough to secure a goal for the Lions, giving the Golden Hawks their 1-0 win over York.
Â
The York University Lions will be playing their next game against the Queen's Gaels at Canlan Ice Sports on Saturday, Jan 26 at 2pm.
