The York University men's basketball team were defeated 100-54 against the Carleton Ravens on Saturday evening at the Raven's Nest in Ottawa, Ont.
 
The Lions were up against tough competition in Ottawa this weekend playing against the No. 1 team in the country. The Ravens are also first place in the OUA East standings with a perfect 16-0 record this season.
 
The Lions opened the game with Chevon Brown nailing a three-pointer after the Ravens got five points on the score board. Despite keeping the game close at the start of the quarter, the Ravens added 22 points total to lead the Lions 22-13.
 
The Ravens led the Lions 43-23 at the halftime mark and put up another 30 points in the third quarter and 27 points in the fourth to win the game 100-54.
 
Despite the high score, the Lions did not allow many turnovers, just 13 compared to the Ravens who had 14. It was the Ravens who capitalized on 45 rebounds and had an 85% average at the free throw line.
 
Brown, Prince Kamunga, and DeAndrae Pierre each earned 10 points, while Carleton's Eddie Ekiyor led his team with 15 points and seven rebounds.
 
After a tough weekend, the Lions will be back in action on Jan. 25 to take on the Laurentian Voyageurs. Tip off is scheduled for 1pm.
