On Friday afternoon, the No. 4 nationally ranked York University Lions men's soccer team faced off against the Laurier Golden Hawks, keeping their undefeated streak alive with a 3-0 win at Alumni Field.

The first half started with an electrifying start with a goal in the second minute of the game from Lion's forward
Merci Yuma, with the assist from defenceman
Reggie Laryea. The Lions continued to dominate the first half with another goal in the seventh minute from forward
Omar Marzouk, scoring off an assist from
Marcus Brooks to put York up 2-0 heading into halftime.

The second half commenced, and the Lions did not let up on offence. They had an equally quick goal in the 50
th minute when Yuma's pass found midfielder
Vaughan Bianchi making the score 3-0.

The Lions defence conceded no goals despite the Golden Hawks' efforts, although Laurier had a great chance on net at the 86
th minute of the game. Late in the game, the Lions had a strong push to add another goal to the scoreboard with a breakaway shot from
Cristian Cavanilli. Unfortunately, it was saved by Golden Hawks goalkeeper Ryan Bahia.

The Lions conceded no goals despite the Golden Hawks' efforts. The defence slowed the game down and controlled the tempo, helping the Lions secure top spot in the OUA West Division remaining undefeated on the season.

With another clean sheet, the Lions improve to 8-0-3 while the Golden Hawks drop to 1-7-3.

The Lions will look to extend their win streak to four games on Sunday as they take on the Algoma Thunderbirds at 3pm in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.
