LIONS SCORE HIGH IN GAME AGAINST BADGERS

The no. 4 nationally ranked York University Lions men's soccer team beat the Brock Badgers in a high-scoring 5-0 game on Saturday at Varsity Soccer Field in St. Catharines, Ont.

The first goal of the game was scored by veteran midfielder Cristian Cavallini, whose unassisted goal commenced York's scoring streak. Merci Yuma followed Cavallini with a goal of his own, registering his sixth of the season. York's Vaughan Bianchi finished the first half with an unassisted goal of his own, his first of the season.

The Lions went into the half leading 3-0 against the Badgers who fired six shots on the Lions' net, almost half of the ten shots on goal the Lions produced.

In the second half of the game, the Lions kept their momentum going and the Badgers tried to amplify theirs with ten shots on goal, five of which were saved by York goaltender Mike Argyrides.

The final two goals of the game were from Christopher Jacovou and Milan Beader who brought the final score to 5-0 for the Lions.

Having now completed their four game road trip, the Lions will return home tomorrow to take on the Waterloo Warriors at Alumni Field. Kick-off is scheduled for 8:15pm.
