The York University Lions women's soccer team beat the Brock Badgers 2-1 on Saturday in St. Catharines, Ont.
In the first half of the game the Lions were able to fire seven shots, while the Badgers were able to get in four, however, none converted into goals for either team.
The Lions and the Badgers, who are now third and fourth, respectively, in the OUA West Division standings, went into half time 0-0.
In the second half of the game the Lions doubled their shots on goal, which led to their first goal a few minutes into the second from
Kalifornia Mitchell.
The Lions led 1-0 until the Badger's Sydney Sica responded with an unassisted goal to tie the game 1-1.
With eight minutes remaining in the game, second year
Haley Walsh was able to score the game winner, and her first goal of the season.
The Lions will attempt to continue their winning weekend as they return home to take on the Waterloo Warriors tomorrow at Alumni Field. The game begins at 6pm.
