The York University Lions men's basketball team fell on the road to the No. 6 nationally ranked Lakehead Thunderwolves on the road 91-63 at the CJ Sanders Fieldhouse on Saturday night.

The Thunderwolves raced to an early lead against the Lions 16-8 in the first quarter, but the Lions began to find their footing as the second progressed. After a pair of jump shots from
Nick Russell, the Lions cut the deficit to five with the score at 24-19. Both teams traded baskets for much of the frame, but the Thunderwolves would pull away heading into half up 34-26.

The deficit grew in the second half as the No. 6 ranked team pulled away in third quarter leading 62-44, and ultimately the game.

Russell lead the team with 17 points on the night, while
Prince Kamunga picked up 13 rebounds.

The Lions now have the month of December off, and will return to the court in the new year to take on the Brock Badgers at home on Jan. 8 with tip-off schedule for 8pm at the Tait McKenzie Centre/
