The No. 4 nationally ranked York University Lions men's soccer team hit the road on Sunday for the first time this season as they defeated the Waterloo Warriors 4-0 at Warrior Field.

After coming off their first win of the season at home on Thursday, the Lions were looking to get a win streak going on the road.

Christopher Jacovou would open the scoring and then some for the Lions, breaking the deadlock in the 30
th minute, and doubling the lead just after halftime in the 46
th minute to give York a 2-0 lead.

The game would eventually be secured after
 Merci Yuma and
Michael Thornton notched their first career goals as Lions. Yuma's goal came unassisted in the 63
rd minute, while Thornton's goal clinched the win as he scored in in the dying minutes of the match.

York outshot their opponents 10-5, with Lions keeper
Mike Argyrides earning his second cleansheet in as many matches for the season.

The Lions are now 2-0-1 sitting in second with a game in hand in the West Division, while the Warriors drop to 0-2-1 on the season.

The two-time defending OUA champions will look to extend their win streak to three games this Friday as they host the Western Mustangs at home. The game will kick-off at 8:15pm at Alumni Field.
