YORK FALLS TO NIPISSING IN FIRST OF BACK-TO-BACK

The York University Lions men's volleyball team dropped a straight sets decision to the Nipissing Lakers Friday night in North Bay, Ont.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • York dropped the first set despite scoring 21 points against their counterparts from Nipissing, however four straight points at the end of the set for the Lakers set them apart and gave them a 1-0 lead.
  • That led to a dominant second set from Nipissing, where the Lakers earned a 25-12 win over York.
  • A 7-1 stretch by the Lakers in the middle of the third set gave them the offence they needed to get the job done 25-23, ending the game despite a Lions charge.

These two teams will wrap up their back-to-back with a game at Nipissing Saturday at 5pm.
