Alex Vreeken had three touchdowns and the Queen's Gaels amassed 528 yards in a 61-2 win over the York University Lions football team Saturday afternoon in Kingston, Ont.
Â
After opening the scoring on the road, the Lions couldn't hold off the No. 4-ranked team in Canada as the Gaels took their fifth win of the season away from the contest, handing York its fifth loss.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Â
- The Lions got on the board when the Gaels conceded a safety in the game's first quarter.
- Queen's then responded with 6:13 remaining in the first quarter, when their drive took them to the red zone and Anthony Soles cashed in on the opportunity, making it 7-2.
- Queen's added a second major before the conclusion of the opening quarter. Vreeken found an open Richard Burton in the end zone from 11 yards out, expanding the home team's lead to 14-2.
- The Gaels returned to the same offensive threats for their points in the second quarter, with Soles securing his second short-yardage major of the football game in the late stages of the second. That made the score 21-2 Queen's.
- Vreeken then found Nicodeme Kwemo for another Queen's touchdown just two minutes later. Queen's would then begin piling on offence, coming into halftime with a 30-2 lead.
- The Gaels would then exceed their first-quarter point total in the second half, posting 31 points to seal the victory.
