After putting up 12 goals in their first game of the back-to-back against the McGill Martlets, the York University Lions field hockey team found 10 more goals under 24 hours later.
Frankie St. Louis had four goals and
Mackenzie Gee added two others in a 10-0 rout of McGill. With the win, York moves to 2-0 overall in the OUA standings, good enough for first place in the early stages of the 2021 season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- York equaled their scoring total from the first half of Saturday evening's game in Sunday's affair again, with a 6-0 lead heading into halftime. Gee, Natalie Winter, St. Louis, Jewel Lew, and Lexi Hannah had all the goals.
- The second half featured more offence, but mainly from St. Louis. She had three goals out of the four the Lions scored in the second half.
LOOKING AHEAD
York heads back to action at home when they host the Guelph Gryphons on Friday, Sept. 23, followed by a contest on the road when they head to Waterloo, Ont. to play the Warriors Sunday, Sept. 25.
