Game Recap: Men's Basketball |

WINDSOR USES FOURTH QUARTER TO FLIP SCRIPT ON YORK, COMPLETE LATE-GAME COMEBACK

Prince Kamunga had a 24-point afternoon, but ultimately the Windsor Lancers staged a late-game comeback to down the York University Lions men's basketball team 84-75 Saturday in Windsor, Ont.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Elias Pangiotopoulos continued his hot streak from beyond the arc in the first quarter, scoring two consecutive threes to give the Lions a healthy lead in the first quarter, The Lions maintained this lead until the end of the quarter with Prince Kamunga and Somto Dimanochie leading the offensive transitions for the Lions.
  • York took a 12-point lead in the second period with Travon Hamilton and Kamunga taking the offensive responsibility and delivering for their team. Windsor heated up before the half expired to end the first half 42-36.
  • The Lancers cut down the lead to four points to keep the Lions on their toes heading into the final quarter. However, it was the Lions who had the last laugh in the third to maintain their advantage. Hamilton ended the quarter with a classy reverse lay-up buzzer beater to keep the Lions lead at six.
  • Windsor then staged a comeback where they outscored York by 15 points in the fourth quarter to walk away with the victory. The game ended 84-75.
