HOW IT HAPPENED
- York started the game on a positive note, going up 10 on the Lancers. York provided great rim protection to prevent the Lancers from scoring lay-ups. Jada Codrington scored the game's first three to end the quarter 23-11.
- Windsor were more aggressive in their offense in the second period, bringing the lead down to five points before a three from Lauren Golding halted a run from the Lancers while they were building momentum.
- Before the end of the first half, Windsor's Julia Sharatt drained a corner three for the Lancers to reduce York's lead to four points. The score was 32-28 heading to half.
- York went behind in the third quarter, with Windsor scoring 12 out of 15 points to overtake the Lions 46-41. Harriet Carey dragged her team to the lead with the Lancers finding more gaps in the Lions defense.
- Kiara Leveridge and Golding combined to score the next six points for York and get back into the game in the final quarter. Kali Grootenboer's four late points proved to be the difference for Windsor, as they edged out the Lions on home court.
