After making a run to the first round of the OUA playoffs, the York University Lions were impressive this season on the court, earning an OUA all-star selection announced by the conference on Thursday.

In his fifth year of eligibility and first season with the Lions, Evan Shadkami, a psychology major, was selected as an OUA second-team all-star. Shadkami was impressive on the court all season, finishing the regular season leading the OUA in minutes (800) and three-pointers (79-203), finished second in minutes per game (36.4) and field goals (158-385), and was third in points (475) and points per game (21.6).

He led the Lions in their playoff game with 22 points, shooting 9-for-18 (50.0%) from beyond the arc, and seeing all 40 minutes of action. 

He reached a seasons high 40 points in a singular game on Nov. 25 against the University of Toronto in the Lions 112-108 victory, and had five games achieving 30 points or higher. On Feb. 11, he was named the U SPORTS men's basketball athlete of the week after his combined 65 points in two games, shooting 22-for-38 (57.9%) from the field and 10-for-16 (62.5%) from beyond the arc. 

Shadkami earned his second OUA all-star selection, after being named to the OUA and U SPORTS all-rookie teams in his 2017-18 rookie campaign.
