The York Lions Men's Hockey Team will look to start a win streak this weekend as they're set up for a double header at home this weekend. The Lions will be in action Saturday afternoon when they take on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. On Sunday, they'll host the Brock Badgers for their second leg of a back-to-back. Both games will start at 2 PM EST and will be hosted at Canlan Ice Sports.

The Lions also found themselves in a double-header last weekend, traveling to Waterloo to face both the Warriors and the Laurier Golden Hawks.

Against the Warriors, the Lions started out strong and got out to a 3-0 lead about halfway through the second. However, from that point on, things did not go as smoothly for York. The Lions allowed five straight unanswered goals to ultimately fall to the Warriors 5-3.

Against Laurier, the Lions flipped the script as they went down 1-0 in the first and scoreless in the second. York would rally off three straight unanswered goals in the third period to secure a 3-1 win over Laurier, York's first of the season.

On Saturday, York will face cross-town rivals, the University of Toronto Varsity Blues. The Varsity Blues also find themselves 1-1 to start the season, with a win over Western in their opener followed up by a loss to the Brock Badgers. Both Toronto and York have scored six goals in two games while also allowing six goals in two games, making for a very even matchup going into Saturday's game.

On Sunday, York will face off against the Brock Badgers, who have started their season 2-1 so far. Brock currently boasts one of the best goal differentials in the OUA with a +5 differential. They also beat the Varsity Blues 4-1 in their last match but lost to Laurier in their opener 3-2. Sunday's contest should be another hard-fought contest against two teams vying for early season success.

Tickets for both games will be available at yorkulions.ca/tickets. The games will also be available to stream on OUA.tv.
