The rules of the current OBA and the York University Intramural Program are applied and modified as follows:

1. Appropriate badminton clothing must be worn by all participants (athletic shorts/pants, shirt, non-marking rubber soled shoes).
2. Professional, carded and varsity players are not eligible to participate in this tournament.
3. Players may play in two events with the following exceptions:
   1. A player may not play in both the Tier 1 and Tier 2 divisions of the same category. For example, a player enrolled in men's singles Tier 1 may not play in men's singles
      Tier 2.
   2. A player in men's singles Tier 1 may not participate in any coed event.
4. The top players in each pool will advance to the playoff round.
5. The entire tournament will be played in one night. Any player beginning the tournament and leaving early will default his/her rank in the tournament, and will therefore forfeit Torch Points and the team's performance bond.
