Contest Period
The contest opens on Friday, October 23, 2026 and closes Saturday, October 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Eligibility
The contest is open to current York University students, staff, faculty, alumni, supporters and fans.
How to Enter
To enter, participants must:
1. Submit a response of 50 words or less answering the question: "What makes you proud to be a York Lion?"
2. Submit their entry through the online For The Pride Contest form during the contest period.
Limit one (1) entry per person.
Prize
One (1) winner will receive:
The prize has no cash value, is non-transferable, and must be accepted as awarded.
Winner Selection
At the conclusion of the contest period (Saturday, October 31, 2026, 11:59pm), one (1) winner will be selected by random draw from all eligible entries received.
The selected entrant will be contacted Monday, November 2, 2026 using the contact information provided at the time of entry. If the selected entrant cannot be reached within five (5) business days, is found to be ineligible, or declines the prize, another eligible entrant may be selected.
Entry Requirements
Entries must:
- Be the original work of the participant.
- Be 50 words or less.
- Not contain offensive, defamatory, discriminatory, or inappropriate content.
- Not infringe upon the rights of any third party.
York University reserves the right to disqualify any entry that does not meet these requirements.
Publicity Release
By entering, participants grant York University and York Lions permission to use their name, submitted response, likeness, and hometown for promotional purposes related to the contest without additional compensation, unless prohibited by law.
Privacy
Personal information collected for this contest will be used solely for the administration of the contest and in accordance with York University's privacy policies.
General Conditions
York University reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the contest should any cause beyond its reasonable control affect the proper administration of the contest.
By participating, entrants agree to abide by these official rules and all decisions made by York University, which are final.
