Last MeetingsThe Thunderbirds joined the OUA for the first time last season and the Lions were their first home opponents in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont. Both games were lopsided affairs in favour of the Lions, with the visitors winning the first 16-0 and the second 12-0.
Nour Ghoneim scored six goals over the two contests and the Lions totalled 55 shots on goal.

York- The Lions have already secured first place in the OUA West Division with a seven-point lead heading into the final weekend. They are the only team in the OUA West with an undefeated mark and one of only two teams in the conference without a loss.
- The Lions moved up to No. 2 in the CIS this week, their highest ranking since reaching No. 2 in Week 4 last season.
- The Lions have won three of four games against their nationally-ranked opponents in the division, defeating Laurier twice and Western once. Their only draw was against the Mustangs.
- The Lions are, by far, the most defensive team in the OUA West. They have allowed a division-low seven goals in 14 games, four fewer than any other team. They are also one of the highest scoring with 32 goals.

Algoma- The Thunderbirds are still looking for their first win since joining the OUA in 2014-15. They are 0-14-0 on the year, with their closest loss coming in a 1-0 defeat to the Waterloo Warriors.
- The Thunderbirds have scored only four goals this year and allowed 116, the worst marks in the conference. They have improved from last season to this point, lowering their goals against average by more than two per game.

Nour Ghoneim – The current OUA female athlete of the week after scoring both game winners last weekend against Waterloo and Western. She is tied for third in OUA scoring with 11 goals in 14 games.

Kiyani Johnson – The rookie is tied for 13
th in OUA scoring with six goals despite coming into most games off the bench in the second half. She was previously the OUA and CIS female athlete of the week earlier this year.
