LIONS AND DINO'S PLAY IN FRONT OF HUMBOLDT CROWD ON SECOND DAY OF MARK CROSS HUMBOLDTSTRONG REMEMBRANCE TOUR

The York Lions and Calgary Dino's played an emotional game in front of the Humboldt Bronco's fans last night in the second game of the Mark Cross HumboldtStrong Remembrance Tour.

The game took place at Elgar Peterson Arena, the home rink of the Bronco's in Humboldt, Sask. The Lions opened the scoring at 3:49 in the first period on a goal by forward Scott Feser, with Daniel Nikandrov picking up the assist.

However, it was all Dino's from that point on as they out shot the Lions 43-19 and won by a final score of 8-1. Defenceman Dylan Busenius led the way for Calgary with two goals and two assists.

The game in Humboldt marked a return for Lions forward Kaleb Dahlgren, who played with the team last year and was involved in the team's tragic bus crash on April 6th. Dahlgren, who announced his commitment to attend York in May, is still recovering from injuries from the crash but took the opening lap of the game in the pre-game warm-up in front of the Humboldt crowd. Dahlgren also participated in the ceremonial puck drop and pre-game ceremony with 'Dahlgren's Diabeauties,' a program he started to help support local kids with diabetes.

The Lions will have the day off from game action today and will compete in the third and final game of the tour on Sunday in Saskatoon. They will take on the Saskatchewan Huskies in their home rink at 5pm.
