The York University Lions men's basketball team lost 100-75 to the No. 3 nationally ranked Ottawa Gee-Gees on Friday night in Ottawa.

The Lions opened the game by finishing three points ahead of the Gee-Gees in the first quarter of the game, taking it 20-17. York's
Dusan Prelo hit two free throw's giving the Lions their first points of the game. During the quarter, York's
Prince Kamunga was able to drop eight points for the Lions, accounting for almost half of the teams points in the frame.

The second quarter of the game saw the Gee-Gees take the lead by doubling the Lions points in the period 30-15. Throughout the first half, Kamunga contributed 14 points while
Robert Lamour was able to add in eight points for York. As for the Gee-Gees, Gage Sabean was able to provide his team with 12 points, as was the Gee-Gee's Dragan Stajic.

Ottawa finished ahead 47-35 by the end of the first half of the game.

In the third quarter, the Gee-Gees, who are second in the OUA East standings, finished 18 points ahead of York taking the quarter 28-10, heading into the final quarter up 75-45.

in the final quarter of the game, the Lions battled it out and outscored the No. 3 team 30-25 in the final frame, however, the Gee-Gees lead proved too much as they came away with the win.

Though the Lions lost, York's Kamunga lead all scorers with 22 points, while
Nick Russell finished with 14 and Prelo with 10.

The Lions will take on another nationally ranked opponent in Ottawa tomorrow night as they face the No. 1 Carleton Ravens at 8pm.
